A typical share of veg
If you want to buy food from Thornbury Harvest Coop then you must be a member. You can also join if you just want to support what we are doing or if you want to keep in touch.
Membership of Thornbury Harvest Coop costs £10 for a household for a year plus a one-off payment of £1.
Membership means:
- Fantastic vegetables each week
- Supporting a local scheme
- Volunteering on the work days, and finding out about how the food is grown
- Having a say in how the scheme is run
- The chance to invest in the project
Vegetable costs
Our brassicas in the field
Once you’ve joined, you can buy vegetables or “shares”. You sign up to receive vegetables every week, this means we have a guaranteed income to pay the grower with. You can choose either a standard share, which is plenty for 2 adults for a week, or a double share. Costs are:
- Standard share: £7 week/£30 month/£350 year
- Double share: £12/£54/£640
- Extra portions: £1 per portion
We prefer you to pay electronically or by standing order, but you can pay by cheque.
If you pay by cash then we charge £8 a week for a standard share or £13 for a double share. This pays the extra cost of handling the cash. Please put the cash in an envelope with your name on, so the treasurer knows where it came from.
